ARCHIVES 2013 has ended

Mike Dabrishus

University of Pittsburgh
Assistant University Librarian
Pittsburgh, PA
I have a B.A. in history from Western Michigan University and M.L.S. from Wayne State University where my studies concentrated on archival administration. While at Wayne I worked at the Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs.

I worked at the Texas State Archives from 1976 to 1983 and from there went to the University of Arkansas in 1984 to become Head of Special Collections and Assistant Director of Libraries. In 2002 I accepted the position as Assistant University Librarian for the University of Pittsburgh Libraries. The Archives Service Center, Special Collections Department, Center for American Music, East Asian Library, Music Library, Fine Arts Library, and several regional collections report to me.

I've been a member of SAA since 1974, and also am a member of several other professional organizations. I've been a member of the Manuscript Society for nearly twenty years, serve on its Executive Board and chair its Replevin Committee. I'm also a current member of the State Historical Records Advisory Board for the Pennsylvania State Archives.
