John is Archivist and Digital Resources Manager, Archives and Modern Manuscripts Program within the National Library of Medicine's History of Medicine Division. He is responsible for all collection management and arrangement and description activities, as well as developing online resources such EAD finding aids and oral history content. He also serves on NLM's Fedora repository development team, shepherding film digitization projects and chairing the Preservation Working Group. Prior to joining NLM in 2000, John was a contract archivist and manuscripts cataloger at the Library of Virginia/Virginia State Archives. John's SAA service includes Chairing the STHC Roundtable, CALM representative, and Description Section newsletter editor/steering committee member. He received his MLIS from the University of Texas-Austin, a MA in Southern Studies from Ole Miss, and his BA from Mary Washington College.
